#25 Mudra Series (Part 3): Lotus Mudra – (7min)
Hey Yogi,
Welcome to Part 3 of our 3 Part Mudra Series.
What is a Mudra?
A mudra is a symbolic hand gesture used in yoga that acts as an energetic seal to direct the flow of energy in the body. Each mudra is designed to have different effects on your body, mind and energy. Mudras are used in conjunction with pranayama (breathing exercises) so in this series we will be exploring 3 common mudras combined with some simple breathing techniques.
Mudra #3: Lotus Mudra
Lotus Mudra is connected to the heart chakra and is a symbol of love and kindness. In this meditation we will set an intention and explore holding Lotus Mudra (Padma Mudra in Sanskrit) to focus our energy.
